Scorpions - Sting In The Tail - 2010

Sting In the Tail

Sting in the Tail is bread and butter Scorpions for their arena-dwelled faithful. It sounds large, not epic, booming, not devastating. In general, Sting in the Tail presents a happy vibe for a band historically keeping a piston pulse to their rockers and glove love smoothness to their ballads.

Scorpions - Eye To Eye - 1999

Eye to Eye

Teutonic terrors Scorpions return with EYE TO EYE, their first album for Koch Records. The band retains the crunchy hard rock style that has kept it potent since the '70s and adds a contemporary commercial touch that proves Scorpions are not living in the past. "Mysterious" and "To be No.1" kick off the album, and both may raise the eyebrows of longtime fans. These excellent tunes contain beats and loops-a first for the group. The latter is the first single, with a video spoofing the Clinton/Lewinsky affair.

Track Listing

 01. Mysterious
02. To Be No. 1
03. Obsession
04. 10 Light Years Away
05. Mind Like A Tree
06. Eye To Eye
07. What U Give U Get Back

12. Du Bist So Schmutzig
13. Aleyah
14. A Moment In A Million Years

Scorpions - Pure Instinct - 1996

Pure Instinct

There are two ways to look at this album. While many fans might be disappointed with the lack of hard rock expected, some of the Scorpions' best songs ever haunt this album.

Track Listing
01. Wild Child
02. But The Best For You
03. Does Anyone Know
04. Stone In My Shoe
05. Soul Behind The Face
06. Girl (I Wanna Be With You)
07. When You Came Into My Life
08. Where The River Flows
09. Time Will Call Your Name
10. You And I
11. Are You The One?

Scorpions - Face The Heat - 1993

Face the Heat

Not even renowned metal producer Bruce Fairbairn could save this disappointing follow-up to the outstanding release Crazy World. Instead of concentrating on melodic tunes, Face The Heat seems to focus on noisy metal and glass-shattering screaming rather than the usual classic and emotional sounds that the Scorpions have put on their previous albums.

Track Listing

01. Alien Nation
02. No Pain, No Gain
03. Someone To Touch
04. Under The Same Sun
05. Unholy Alliance
06. Woman
07. Hate To Be Nice
08. Taxman Woman
09. Ship Of Fools
10. Nightmare Avenue
11. Lonely Nights

Scorpions - Crazy World - 1990

Crazy World

Crazy World is a rockin' platter that will please those in search of quality songwriting and Hard Rock heaviness.

Track Listing

01. Tease Me Please Me
02. Don't Believe Her
03. To Be With You In Heaven
04. Wind Of Change
05. Restless Nights
06. Lust Or Love
07. Kicks After Six
08. Hit Between The Eyes
09. Money And Fame
10. Crazy World
11. Send Me An Angel

Scorpions - Savage Amusement - 1988

Savage Amusement

With Savage Amusement, the group's first studio recording in almost four years, the Scorpions experimented with more polished pop melodies that Def Leppard and the like had made popular. The end result is polished and often predictable music that, while good, on the whole fails to be as infectious as the music on their previous albums.

Track Listing

01. Don't Stop At The Top
02. Rhythm Of Love
03. Passion Rules The Game
04. Media Overkill
05. Walking On The Edge
06. We Let It Rock...You Let It Roll
07. Every Minute Every Day
08. Love On The Run
09. Believe In Love

Scorpions - Love At First Sting - 1984

Love at First Sting

Although the Scorpions had already achieved fame after 1982's Blackout, Love at First Sting brought them their biggest single of the decade, the slick anthem "Rock You Like a Hurricane," with some greatly underrated songs to back it up.

Track Listing

01. Bad Boys Running Wild
02. Rock You Like A Hurricane
03. I'm Leaving You
04. Coming Home
05. The Same Thrill
06. Big City Nights
07. As Soon as The Good Times Roll
08. Crossfire
09. Still Loving You

Scorpions - Blackout - 1982

Blackout

Blackout was the Scorpions' first majorly successful album, due to its clever balance of pop/rock (the title track), power ballads ("When the Smoke Is Going Down"), and catchy heavy metal ("Dynamite," "No One Like You").

Track listing

01. Blackout
02. Can't Live Without You
03. No One Like You
04. You Give Me All I Need
05. Now!
06. Dynamite
07. Arizona
08. China White
09. When The Smoke Is Going Down

Scorpions - Animal Magnetism - 1980

Animal Magnetism

Although Animal Magnetism contains such classic songs as "The Zoo" and "Make It Real," the album is somewhat disappointing when compared to its predecessor, Lovedrive.

Track Listing

01. Make It Real
02. Don't Make No Promises (Your Body Can't Keep)
03. Hold Me Tight
04. Twentieth Century Man
05. Lady Starlight
06. Falling In Love
07. Only A Man
08. The Zoo
09. Animal Magnetism
10. Hey You

Scorpions - Lovedrive - 1979

Lovedrive

A strong set of songs backed by solid, if unspectacular, musicianship. A good hard rock offering, that deserves its classic status, and which will be a good call for any fan of the genre.

Track Listing

01. Loving You Sunday Morning
02. Another Piece Of Meat
03. Always Somewhere
04. Coast To Coast
05. Can't Get Enough
06. Is There Anybody There?
07. Lovedrive
08. Holiday

Scorpions - Taken By Force - 1987

Taken By Force

Taken by Force was the last studio album recorded with Uli, who left the band in 1978 due to creative differences. Although not as well known as the later ballad-filled and commercially successful albums produced by the Scorpions, Taken by Force and the albums which preceded it are full of great music.

Track Listing

01. Steamrock Fever
02. We'll Burn The Sky
03. I've Got To Be Free
04. Riot Of Your Time
05. Sails Of Charon
06. Your Light
07. He's A Woman, She's A Man
08. Born To Touch Your Feelings

Scorpions - Virgin Killer - 1976

Virgin Killer

With Scorpions fourth release, attention was very much the idea behind their album cover. It wasn't so much the bands blatant disregard of their image, but the record label needed something to gain notice with a sharp contrast from their previous releases. So they decided that Virgin Killer would be shipped to the stores with a pre-pubescent girl on the cover, even if it meant that they themselves went to jail. Try that today and you're sure to get in some trouble.

Track Listing

01. Pictured Life
02. Catch Your Train
03. In Your Park
04. Backstage Queen
05. Virgin Killer
06. Hell Cat
07. Crying Days
08. Polar Nights
09. Yellow Raven

Scorpions - In Trance - 1975

In Trance

The third release from Germany’s favorite sons can be called the first “true” Scorpions album. Gone are the progressive and extended songs from the last album and all hints of a psychedelic influence have been eliminated. “In Trance” is the album that started their signature sound.

Track Listing
01. Dark Lady
02. In Trance
03. Life's Like A River
04. Top Of The Bill
05. Living & Dying
06. Robot Man
07. Evening Wind
08. Sun In My Hand
09. Longing For Fire
10. Night Lights

Scorpions - Fly To The Rainbow - 1974

Fly to the Rainbow

"Fly To The Rainbow" is a terrific CD by Scorpions. This is a record that is more tie-dye than leather, yet still provides enough heaviness. This is a perfect CD to put on if you want to relax and explore your mind.

Track Listing

01. Speedy's Coming
02. They Need A Million
03. Drifting Sun
04. Fly People Fly
05. This Is My Song
06. Far Away
07. Fly To The Rainbow

Scorpions - Lonesome Crow - 1972

Lonesome Crow

Scorpions have one of the most illustrious careers in heavy metal and music overall. They are mostly known for “Rock You Like a Hurricane” and their Cold War ballad “Wind of Change.” However, most don’t know of their humble beginnings in the mid-sixties and that their first full-length was released in 1972. To those that have not heard this, I would say forget about what you know about the band because this is something totally different.

Track Listing
01. I'm Going Mad
02. It All Depends
03. Leave Me
04. In Search Of The Peace Of Mind
05. Inheritance
06. Action
07. Lonesome Crow
