Black Sabbath - Forbidden - 1995

Forbidden

Forbidden is the eighteenth and final studio album by British heavy metal band Black Sabbath, released in June 1995. This also saw the reunion of Black Sabbath's TYR-era lineup from 1990, with the return of Neil Murray and Cozy Powell. The album was panned by critics and fans alike. This is the band's most recent studio album released under the Black Sabbath name. It was also the last album to feature Tony Martin on vocals.

Track Listing
01. The Illusion Of Power
02. Get A Grip
03. Can't Get Close Enough
04. Shaking Off The Chains
05. I Won't Cry For You
06. Guilty as Hell
07. Sick And Tired
08. Rusty Angels
09. Forbidden
10. Kiss Of Death

Black Sabbath - Cross Purposes - 1994

Cross Purposes

Ever since the late 80's, it was dead clear that Black Sabbath were missing more than they hit. Records such as Headless Cross and Tyr, both recorded with their second-longest-lasting vocalist Tony Martin, were close to being abominations, and the band had strayed far from their amazing compositions in the 70's with Ozzy Osbourne and early 80's with the late Ronnie James Dio. The Eternal Idol, the first album Sabbath did with Martin, however, proved to be quite enjoyable, and 1994's Cross Purposes is really the only Martin-led album that can stand on a similar level.

Track Listing

01. I Witness
02. Cross Of Thorns
03. Psychophobia
04. Virtual Death
05. Immaculate Deception
06. Dying For Love
07. Back To Eden
08. The Hand That Rocks The Cradle
09. Cardinal Sin
10. Evil Eye

Black Sabbath - Dehumanizer - 1992

Dehumanizer
When this album was released; good old Heavy Metal wasn't in its glory days. MAIDEN were in the worst part of their career, with Bruce leaving around this time. METALLICA had turned real crap and there just weren't classics released like in the 70's and 80's. It was of course a good time for Extreme Metal. And of course there were some exceptions to the rule; JUDAS PRIEST released their smashing "Painkiller" album only a few years before SABBATH's "Dehumanizer" hit the stores, which is the other exception in my opinion.
Track Listing
01. Computer God
02. After All (The Dead)
03. TV Crimes
04. Letters From Earth
05. Masters Of Insanity
06. Time Machine
07. Sins Of The Father
08. Too Late
09. I
10. Buried Alive

Black Sabbath - Tyr - 1990

Tyr

This is another album that does not get the respect it deserves in the Black Sabbath lexicon. Old-school Sabbath devotees decry any post-Ozzy recordings, but in fact this is better than any of them. Besides being one of the trio of excellent albums BS recorded with singer Tony Martin ("The Eternal Idol", "Headless Cross", and "Tyr") this is the one and only Sabbath album that could be deemed a Viking Metal album.
Track Listing

01. Anno Mundi
02. The Lawmaker
03. Jerusalem
04. The Sabbath Stones
05. The Battle Of Tyr
06. Odin's Court
07. Valhalla
08. Feels Good To Me
09. Heaven In Black

Black Sabbath - Headless Cross - 1989

Headless Cross

First question: Can BLACK SABBATH be compared with BLACK SABBATH? I don't think so, the eras are too different, but in music and vocals, even though it always has been BLACK SABBATH.
"Headless Cross" can barely be compared to the beginnings with Ozzy Osbourne, because firstly the music here is quite epic, but still powerful Doom and secondly Tony Martin's voice alone is so very different...

Track Listing
01. The Gates Of Hell
02. Headless Cross
03. Devil And Daughter
04. When Death Calls
05. Kill In The Spirit World
06. Call Of The Wild
07. Black Moon
08. Nightwing

Black Sabbath - The Eternal Idol - 1987

The Eternal Idol

The Eternal Idol is the thirteenth studio album by Black Sabbath, released in December 1987. It is the first of several Black Sabbath albums to feature longtime vocalist Tony Martin. It spent six weeks on the Billboard 200 chart, peaking at 168. It was also the last Black Sabbath record to be released by Warner Bros. Records.

Track Listing

01. The Shining

08. Eternal Idol

Black Sabbath - Seventh Star - 1986

Seventh Star

Seventh Star is the twelfth studio album by Black Sabbath, released in January 1986.
It was originally written, recorded, and intended to be the first solo album by guitarist Tony Iommi, but due to label pressures and the prompting of band manager Don Arden, the record was billed as Black Sabbath featuring Tony Iommi. Glenn Hughes, ex-Deep Purple bassist and vocalist, was lead singer but did not play bass on this release.

Track listing

01. In For The Kill
02. No Stranger To Love
03. Turn To Stone
04. Sphinx (The Guardian)
05. Seventh Star
06. Danger Zone
07. Heart Like A Wheel
08. Angry Heart
09. In Memory…

Black Sabbath - Mob Rules - 1981

Mob Rules

Mob Rules is Black Sabbath's tenth studio album, released in November 1981. It peaked at number 29 on the U.S. charts.
In the UK, it became the fourth Black Sabbath studio-album to attain Silver certification (60,000 units sold) by the British Phonographic Industry, achieving this in February 1982

Track Listing

01. Turn Up The Night
02. Voodoo
03. The Sign Of The Southern Cross
04. E5150

Black Sabbath - Heaven And Hell - 1980

Heaven And Hell

1980 saw the release of Black Sabbath's 9th studio album, Heaven and Hell. The new decade brought with it a new singer, in the form of former Rainbow front man Ronnie James Dio. With a style that couldn't be much different from the band's previous singer, Ozzy Osbourne, it was hard to imagine what the band might sound like. The addition of new blood seemed to be just what the band needed as they crafted some of the best songs of their careers. Of course, there were some misfires as well.

Track Listing
01. Neon Knights
02. Children Of The Sea
03. Lady Evil
04. Heaven And Hell
05. Wishing Well
06. Die Young
07. Walk Away
08. Lonely Is The Word

Black Sabbath - Never Say Die - 1978

Never Say Die

1978 saw the release of Black Sabbath's eight studio album, Never Say Die!, and it marked the end of Ozzy Osbourne's career as the studio vocalist for the band. And what an ignominious end it was. Never Say Die! is barely better than the awful Technical Ecstasy, released two years earlier. All trace of Doom Metal is gone, replaced by 70's Hard Rock/Heavy Metal. The subject matter is almost exclusively upbeat and it was clear the band had completely run out of songwriting ideas.

Track Listing
01. Never Say Die
02. Johnny Blade
03. Junior's Eyes
04. A Hard Road
05. Shock Wave
06. Air Dance
07. Over To You
08. Break Out
09. Swinging The Chain

Black Sabbath - Technical Ecstasy - 1976

Technical Ecstasy

1976 saw the release of Black Sabbath's seventh studio album, Technical Ecstasy, as well as their subsequent surrender of the title of heaviest band on the planet. Technical Ecstasy is still heavy, but the 70s hard and progressive rock that had been creeping in on Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage takes over completely. Factor in the fact that Judas Priest's awesome Sad Wings of Destiny had been released the year prior and other bands like Scorpions and Motorhead were just gearing up for some great runs and the writing on the wall that Black Sabbath's time was over was clear.

Track Listing
01. Back Street Kids
02. You Won't Change Me
03. Rock n' Roll Doctor
04. It's Alright [sung by Bill Ward]
05. All Moving Parts (Stand Still)
06. She's Gone
07. Dirty Women
08. Gypsy

Black Sabbath - Sabotage - 1975

Sabotage

All things must change and with the release of "Sabotage", SABBATH's sixth studio offering the writing was on the wall for the greatest Metal-band in history. This album marked the end of the classic line-up (but not for the last time!) and as tensions grew in the band most notably between Ozzy and Iommi the discord and animosity brought the group together for one final charge resulting in another SABBATH-masterpiece.

Track Listing
01. Hole In The Sky
02. Don't Start (Too Late)
03. Symptom Of The Universe
04. Megalomania
05. Thrill Of It All
06. Supertzar
07. Am I Going Insane (Radio)
08. The Writ

Black Sabbath - Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath - 1973

Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath

This album is a bloody masterpiece. This is the best album SABBATH has and will ever make. If you are after the ultimate Heavy Metal-guitar-riff then "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" is that riff. Forget "Smoke On The Water", "Rock'n'Roll" and hell, even "Paranoid". They don't stand a chance. Evil, heavy, powerful. Awesome.

Track Listing
01. Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath
02. A National Acrobat
03. Fluff
04. Sabbra Cadabra
05. Killing Yourself To Live
06. Who Are You?
07. Looking For Today
08. Spiral Architect

Black Sabbath - Volume 4 - 1972

Volume 4

A hectic touring schedule lead the band into to period dogged by ill health, but as always the band pulled through and released their fourth album, aptly titled "Vol 4".

Track Listing

01. The Straightener (Intro) / Wheels Of Confusion
02. Tomorrow's Dream
03. Changes
04. FX
05. Supernaut
06. Snowblind
07. Cornucopia
08. Laguna Sunrise
09. St. Vitus' Dance
10. Under The Sun / Every Day Comes & Goes (Outro)

Black Sabbath - Master Of Reality - 1971

06. Lord Of This World
07. Solitude
08. Into The Void

Black Sabbath - Paranoid - 1970

Paranoid

1970 was an intense and highly satisfying year for Black Sabbath. February of that year saw the release of their eponymous titled first album and, by the end of that year, they issued their second album, the legendary Paranoid.

Track Listing

01. Luke's Wall (Intro) / War Pigs
02. Paranoid
03. Planet Caravan
04. Iron Man
05. Electric Funeral
06. Hand Of Doom
07. Rat Salad
08. Fairies Wear Boots / Jack The Stripper (Outro)

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath - 1970

Black Sabbath

Black Sabbath is not an ordinary album. It's the one that gave birth to our beloved metal genre. It was recorded back in 1970. At that time, although the spotlight was on the popular rock'n'roll groups which were constantly producing new "hits", Black Sabbath managed to compose the first heavy metal album ever.

Track Listing

01. Black Sabbath
02. The Wizard
03. Wasp / Behind The Wall Of Sleep
04. Basically / N.I.B.
05. Evil Woman (Don't Play Your Game With Me) [Crow cover]
